 2017 Preview 


       Randolph County completed the 2016 season with a 10-3 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 3A region five, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Randolph County lost in the quarter-finals of the playoffs last season to a good Ohatchee team by a score of 31-0.

       Over the past two seasons the Tigers have gone 23-4 and will be looking to continue that winning tradition. Since 2010, Randolph County has gone a combined 52-27. Their 66.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class 3A over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Randolph County has managed to compile a record of 166-113. Their 60.0% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class 3A and 94th in the AHSAA.

       The Tigers are led by head coach Pat Prestridge who is entering his twelveth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 89-42 over the past eleven seasons at Randolph County. Under his direction the Tigers have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times. They have won one region crown with Coach Prestridge. Coach Prestridge led Randolph County to a state championship in 2003.

       Coach Prestridge's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 106-65 (62.0%). His 106 wins rank th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Prestridge's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times and won one region championship.

       The Randolph County Tigers will play in Class 3A region five during the 2017 season.

       Region five will be one of the most competitive regions in any classification this season.

       The Tigers enter the 2017 season riding a 7 game regular season winning streak. The Tigers will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region five this season.

      

       The Tigers open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Barbour County on Friday, September 1 at Hulond Humphries Stadium. Last year the Barbour County Jaguars finished with an overall record of 0-9 and in seventh place in Class 2A region two. The Jaguars closed out the regular season with a loss to Bullock County by a score of 36-12.

       Randolph County and Barbour County have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 2-0-0 record against the Jaguars. They last met in 2016 with Randolph County winning by a score of 41-6.
